Identifying and Creating Fields in netFORUM The first article of the new netFORUM Developer Series netFORUM Enterprise presents fields of data in a number of different ways. For the developer, you have a number of different ways to creating and using fields in netFORUM including Column, Views, Virtual fields and the powerful but obscure GetValue override. This article walks you through some of the common ways to implement a field in netFORUM and explains the feature and limitations of each, and when to use them. Equally important is how to identify a particular field's type in order to understand better how it works and how it originates.
