Getting Started

Setting Up the Events Drop-Down Lists

netFORUM uses drop-down lists for easy data entry. Some drop-down lists have baseline information that may need to be changed to make the list more organization-specific e.g. organizations have different types of activities.

BOLD text is a likely indicator that the field is REQUIRED data. Other data fields, check boxes, and drop-down lists may be CONDITIONAL i.e. affected by others, are not required but available if you need them.

You can add, edit, or delete data from the Events Setup pages just as you would from any netFORUM child form. However, once a data element is used on a profile page or form, it can be disabled or hidden but not deleted.

Workflow

The following is the recommended order of tasks in setting up and executing your event in netFORUM:

  1. Event Setup
  2. Add the Event to netFORUM
  3. Add a Location and Facilities
  4. Add Registration Fees
  5. Add Tracks and Sessions
  6. Send initial Correspondence and Invitations
  7. Add Event Faculty and Staff
  8. Add Event Sponsorships
  9. ADD & MANAGE REGISTRANTS
  10. Add Housing and Participant Room Assignments

Note: Adding Registrants is an ongoing process during the course of your event. Managing tracks, sessions, sponsors and faculty can occur after the registration process has started.

Common Tasks

The most common tasks within the Events Module are displayed directly on the Overview page and can be accessed by simply clicking the respective icon. These, along with other common tasks, can also be found in the Group Items.
